Chapter 8
Related access
Your safety net against editing half the picture.
As soon as you add target objects, Buckley looks across the org for other containers that already grant access to them, and lists them.
Why it matters
You set out to tighten access to Invoice across three profiles. Related access points out a permission set — assigned to sixty users — that grants it too. Tighten the three and you have changed nothing that matters.
The panel is not telling you to add anything. It is telling you where access already lives, so the decision is yours and informed.
Using it
- Add pulls a container straight into the bucket, where it picks up the same target as everything else.
- Leave it alone to stay aware without changing scope.
Collapsed, the panel shows just a count. Expand it to see what each container actually grants.
Add your objects before you finish building the bucket. Related access works off your targets, so it has nothing to say until they exist.
