Glossary
- Bucket
- The set of containers you have gathered up. Everything in the bucket receives the same edits when you commit.
- Bucket target
- The gold-ruled column where you say what access should be. It is the only column that is not a container.
- Container
- A profile, permission set, or permission set group — anything that can carry access.
- Commit
- Writing the bucket's target to every unlocked container at once. The only action in Buckley that changes your org.
- Drift
- How many containers in the bucket already match the target. 4 of 4 means committing would write nothing.
- Lock
- Holds a container's column where it is. A locked column ignores the target and ignores promotes, but stays in the bucket.
- Promote (the globe)
- Copies a container's own value up to the bucket target, so every other container follows it.
- Push
- Re-asserts the current target across every unlocked container. Used in the settings panes, where re-picking a value the select already shows would otherwise do nothing.
- Editing targets
- The objects you have chosen to work on. They scope the matrix and drive the related access panel.
- Change preview
- The gold ring on a value you have changed but not committed. It disappears when the value matches the org again.
- Read only
- A column the platform refuses to write to — always a permission set group, whose access comes from the sets inside it.
- n/a
- A setting that does not exist on this container type. Session and password policies on a permission set, for example.
- Template
- A saved bucket membership list. It stores which containers, not what access.
